Ok guys, I'm looking to do a mod to my Hawk Helium sticks. I'm debating between using an 8mm static rope or using the rope cam cleats, I really favor the latter even though it's more expensive. ... FYI - If you use a Harken 150 or Schaffer 70-17 you will need at least 2.25" hardware to mount through a Hawk Helium stick.
Can the Hawk Helium sticks be modded to take a cam cleat? I've done a couple mods on them, added silencer strips to the backs and Amsteel daisy chains to replace the cam straps but that's it so far. My issue is that I keep getting a loud squeaking noise that seems to be coming from the versa button when I've got my weight on them.
